Vitrectomy is a well-known technique for dealing with “tractional DME”.

Most doctors however prefer medical treatment for “non-tractional” DME. Recently performed, ME EVRS study proved that vitrectomy may be a valuable treatment option for “non-tractional” DME.

The aim of this presentation is to show the vitreo-retinal relationship in “nontractional DME” revealed during the surgery, pointing that in so-called “non-tractional DME” there might be traction but not detected using commercially available diagnostic techniques.
