Maha Elshafei (Doha, Qatar)

Case of patient who had penetrating trauma by a nail while hammering. Primary repair was done. Two weeks later patient presented with endophthalmitis. Anterior chamber and vitreous samples were taken and intravitreal injection of antibiotics was given. The patient deteriorated, limited vitrectomy was tried due to the bad view caused by the traumatic corneal scar with another sample taken. The patient underwent 3rd trial of anterior chamber wash out and intravitreal injection of antibiotics anti fungal. The condition complicated even more with localized retinal detachment! NO CORNEAL GRAFT WAS AVAILABLE. What to do?
