Ocular trauma remains an important cause of vision loss. Despite popular belief, many cases can have favourable outcomes if properly addressed.

This video illustrates several types of injury and the approach taken to deal with them.

The presentation is divided in two parts. Part 1 deals with retinal fibrosis developing as a result of open globe injuries, whereas part 2 introduces techniques which are useful in controlling complications related to the trauma itself or to the surgical procedures used to deal with the primary injury.

Though presented in association with ocular trauma, we believe these topics can be of use to the retina surgeon in many other instances.
