Suprachoroidal Steroids Delivery One More Option

ABSTRACT

An 18-mounths observation was performed to determine the safety and efficacy of a sustained-release dexamethasone implant (Ozurdex) for the treatment of patients with macular edema in terms of non-infectious chronic posterior segment uveitis. We present our outcomes included position of the implant (UBM), macular reaction on OCT, change in visual acuity, the need for adjunctive therapy, and adverse events (choroidal detachment, cataract formation and intraocular ocular pressure raising). The suprachoroidal space is a new depot spa ce for ocular drugs delivery.
