To demonstrate my personal safety techniques using goggles, double-gloving, foot-wear and lead in the operating theater for vitreoretinal surgical cases.

The risk of needle-stick injury in ophthalmic surgery will be explored. Indications for the use of goggles for eye-protection in vitreoretinal surgery, double-gloving techniques, and proper foot-wear to prevent needle stick injury will be discussed.

Effectiveness / Safety:

All vitreoretinal cases are performed with the safety of the surgeon first and foremost, by proper protection of the eyes, feet, hands and gametes when necessary.
