Purpose:

To establish the role of R-TPA in management of massive subretinal haemorrhage due to ARMD.

Methods:

Retrospective case control study.

Results:

Clearance of subretinal / sub RPE haemorrhage in two of our cases following vitrectomy and subretinal R-TPA injection.

Conclusion:

Subretinal / Sub Retinal Pigment Epithelium (RPE) R-TPA, is a good therapeutic option in patients of massive Subretinal / Sub RPE haemorrhage due to ARMD.

Take-home message:

To try vitrectomy and subretinal R-TPA in non resolving massive subretinal bleed in patients of ARMD.
