Purpose:

To explain the Role of inflammatory process in membrane formation different retinal diseases using histopathological study.

Material & methods:

Histopathological study of membranes in deferent retinal disease from 80 cases taken during pars plana vitrectomy in different cases. 40 cases of advanced diabetic retinopathy with tractional retinal detachment. 20 cases of retinal detachment. 10 cases of membrane under silicon. 5 cases of chronic endophthalmitis. 1 acute endophthalmitis. 4 cases of subretinal membrane.

Results:

Histopathological analysis shows different types of the inflammatory cells (lymphocytes-plasma cells macrophages neutrophil).

Conclusion:

In our recent study present of inflammatory cells in all membrane biopsy analyses explain the role of inflammation in the membrane formation of retinal disease.
