Para-Optic SPCA, an Anatomic and Functional Entity; Already 30 Years Ago!

Didier Ducournau (Nantes, France)

More than thirty years ago a young (and sexy) fellow built a movie on the systematization of the short posterior ciliary arteries (SPCA); by using selective injections of different colors, he succeeded to show that the para-optic SPCA and the distal SPCA are not only a true anatomical entity but also irrigate two different areas. This discovery allows to understand some choroidal disorders. We were pleased to translate in English and to present this thirty years old movie.
