Over 90% of NLP eyes are enucleated, although vision often could be improved with timely reconstruction. This film is on an 80-year-old lady with an occult rupture after falling. Vision was NLP (confirmed at the slit lamp); the lens was under the conjunctiva and she had a retinal detachment. Comprehensive reconstruction (wound closure, removal of extruded tissues, vitrectomy, silicone oil implantation) was performed within 12 hours. Visual acuity improved to 20/80 by the 3rd postoperative day.
