To compare metamorphopsia changes after two different central serous chorioretinopathy treatments with M-CHART (Inami Co., Tokyo, Japan).

We compared 20 self-resolved eyes with oral medication and 10 eyes with low-fluence (LF) PDT. M-CHART, best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), and optical coherence tomography (OCT) were investigated.

Effectiveness / Safety:

After treatment, all macula lesions were well attached. BCVA improved in both group. However, LF PDT applied CSC eyes showed better metamorphopsia improvement (90%) than self resolved eyes (65%).

Take home message:

LF PDT can make better metamorphopsia improvement than self-resolved CSC. Also, M-CHART is simple and useful monitoring method of metamorphopsia in CSC.
