Advantages:

To treat an Intraocular Lens Subluxation whilst avoiding its luxation inside the vitreous cavity and preventing the retinal detachment secondary to the vitreous traction.

Methods:

Our surgical technique consists of the following: scleral infusion, posterior vitrectomy during the anterior limbal lens extraction, hemisection of the lens inside the anterior chamber to be extracted and finally the implantation of a new intraocular lens in the sulcus with the optical zone captured in the capsulorhexis.

Effectiveness/Safety:

Intraocular Lens Subluxation is a situation that can cause dramatic consequences such as its complete luxation or a retinal detachment secondary to the vitreous manipulation. With our technique we restore the visual function reducing the risks of the operation and causing the minimum astigmatism.
