Purpose:
To define a new approach for treatment of neovascular ARMD cases with less frequent visits and injections.
Methods:
Neovascular ARMD cases that have been followed-up for 1-2 year period were analyzed retrospectively and those who had regular intervals of recurrence were identified. An individualized visit and injection period was defined for each of those patients separately.
Effectiveness:
Those cases that had regular intervals of activation will need less visits and will be treated just before the next expected activation so that a new attack would not damage the fovea further.
Take Home message:
A tailored approach for each individual neovascular ARMD case will save time and money while preserving the macula from further damage.
