Advantages:

Positive morphological influence of medical treatment with anti-VEGF drugs in combination with PPV pars plana vitrectomy on the only one eye with haemorrhagic glaucoma due to ischemic central retinal vein occlusion CRVO is presented.

Methods:

Intravitreal injections of Macugen in total 3 times, Lucentis twice, panretinal photocoagulation 1 month after each application, PPV combined with application of Lucentis

Effectiveness / Safety:

Decrease of intraocular pressure and retreat of iris and retinal neovascularization of the only one eye of patient with haemorrhagic glaucoma occurred temporarily always after each application of Macugen and Lucentis. Real stabilization occurred after combined therapy, PPV with application of Lucentis.

The PPV is effective in improving oxygenation to the ischemic retina and relieving any macular traction by removing the posterior hyaloid and inner limiting membrane.
