Choroidal Detachment(CD) is an entity which in most of the time resolve on its own. In few situations, the CD has to be drained to improve the visual acuity and even to save the eye. These situations may arise if the detachments are haemorrhagic with retinal apposition for sufficently long time, or during vitrectomy procedures before the completion of .Traditionally the CD are drained by exposing the choroid after making scleral section with knife.

The micro vitrectomy trocar &cannulae have changed the techniques and along with it increased the safety of the procedures. Here we have shown the different methods of the choroidal detachment drainage and the different circumstances where the different techniques which were safe and gave excellent results.
