For the treatment of idiopathic macular hole I use in my current practice this quite classical technique that I will describe. Results are good that is why I kindly recommend it.I use the 25 gauge Alcon Constellation platform to perform vitrectomy. I begin with core vitrectomy. After I complete it, even do a good shaving of the vitreous base. The next step is removing the posterior hyaloid. I sometimes use triamcinolone for a better visualisation. In order to better see and remove the ILM I use ILM stain (DORC – Brilliant Blue). In the case I present I used gas tamponade.
