Didier Ducournau (Nantes, France)

Last year, during the 2009 EVRS congress, we presented the results of ILM removal on 236 patients presented a macular edema after BRVO (82) and CRVO 154); more than one year after operation, the obtained improvement (in LorMAR lines) was superior to 5 lines i.e. twice as much than after repeated anti-VEGF injections – or any other treatment.

This year, we show the advantages of using Brilliant Peel for this kind of surgery. In fact, in macular edema, the ILM is much more adherent, and tears much more easily so that the need for using a selective dye become therefore more valuable.
