Autologous Transplantation of Choroid and Retina: Reality or Fiction?

The autologous transplantation of retina has been reported to treat chronic macular holes. The retina seems to integrate and regain function. Atrophic maculopathies still remain untreatable diseases. An attempt to treat macular atrophic changes with autologous choroidal and retina transplant has been made in 5 patients followed with collection of functional data (BCVA and microperimetry) and imaging (Swept source angio OCT). The preliminary results will be presented.
