From the types of discomfort we learn that patients with floaters are extremely bothered by them, mostly in their everyday life, but also in their professional life. Floaters are a source of stress.

What is the age of patients with floaters? We can see here that we are talking about patients above 50 years of age mainly. The discomfort is equally distributed in the range 50 to 70 years of age;

However the preference of the surgeons is for flow based machines. This is to say that most of the cases were performed by surgeons using vacuum and the distribution of cases per surgeon is unequal.

Conclusion: The probability of reduction of everyday life discomfort is strongly negatively associated with post-operative complications and positively associated with cutting speed larger than 1500 (either 1500-4000 or larger than 4000). All the other predictors in the model are not statistically significant.
