Baseline Characteristics

As expected the majority of the patients were male with a prevalence of 77%. The average age of male patients was 46.Females were slightly younger with average age of 40.You may notice that the average age is wide from 20 to 83 years. This could open the discussion between problems with differential diagnosis with AMD and late onset CSCR of just residues of CSCR in old patients who had CSCR at a younger age.

57% of doctors could not refer on concomitant disorders present. Maybe we, as ophthalmologist are not used to ask. Maybe patients did not know. Or maybe most of the patients just did not have any concomitant disorder, which is expected. CSCR is a disease that is known to occur to patients in good health mainly.Among the 26% of patient for whom we have information, hypertension was reported in more than 70%.In Europe the prevalence of hypertension is 35-45% and in South Corea is 25%.
